About the Book

For those who are interested in local history there is a book available entitled "St Andrew's, Eccles: History & Guide" by Jane Lowe MA. This is a detailed illustrated guide to a beautiful Grade II listed Victorian Church. It is combined with a historical case study of church planting and church life in the expanding urban community of Eccles, near Manchester, in the late Victorian and early Edwardian periods.

The contents include:

- A detailed guide around the St Andrew's building - St Andrew's in late Victorian and Edwardian Eccles - A history of the church's involvement in the wider community - A history of some activities and organisations connected to St Andrew's - A brief history of the church in Monton.

The book has thirty six glossy pages, and contains around thirty black and white photographs and other illustrations.
